I once did a one shot called âA Hand For A Hermanaâ where Julieta helps Pepa with Dolores when she and Isa are babies because Lolita is literally being a damn MENACE and Pepa wants to cry, whereas Isa is being an angel for once đ Iâm planning on rewriting it though, so would that be something you guys would wanna see? To be fair, I might use it as the opening of my one shot series about the Madrigal kiddos honestly. Thoughts?

Encantober Day 10: Help
Julieta had everything under control. Really. Sheâd had her gift forâŠhow many years now? It was second nature to her. Besides, she enjoyed helping people. And cooking. What could be better than a gift that allowed her to do both?
So maybe it had been more challenging lately. With a toddler and a baby, Julieta found it took her more time and effort to accomplish the same tasks she did with ease before. But that was no excuse. If anything, it was all the more reason to try harder. After all, she had more people relying on her now. Everyone was relying on her. She couldnât let them down. They were counting on her.
All she had to do was replenish her reserves of magical healing food, take care of her two little ones, and cook dinner. Her family had graciously helped out by rotating cooking meals instead of having her cook every day. Luisa slept most of the time, and Isabela was such a sweet child, people were bending over backwards to spend time with her. Really, if you took all that into consideration, it left relatively little for her to do. Sheâd finished restocking the magical food. Now all she had to do was cook dinner.
Easy. She could do it in her sleep.
âJulieta.â
She awoke with a start to Pepa shaking her shoulder. âEh?â She rubbed her bleary eyes.
âJulieta, wake up.â
âDid I fall asleep?â Julieta mumbled sleepily. She raised her hand to cover a yawn and noticed that it was covered in the sauce she had been preparing. It left a trail leading to the bowl, which had sauce smeared down the side. Horrified, she yelped and wiped everything down frantically with the nearest towel.
Pepa scrutinized her. âJuli, when was the last time you slept?â
Julieta tilted her head, thinking. Last night had been hard. Luisa had been colicky and the day before Julieta had been busy taking care of injuries around town. âUhâŠâ
âItâs taking you way too long to answer,â Pepa noted.
Julieta shrugged, deflated. âIâm not sure,â she admitted.
âThatâs concerning.â
Julieta ignored her.
Pepa took a seat beside her. âJulieta, what is going on?â
Julieta took a steadying breath. âNothing. Itâs my turn to make dinner. So Iâm making dinner.â She yawned widely. âIâm just⊠a bit tired, thatâs all.â
âSo you decided the empanada filling would make a good pillow?â
Julieta gave her a confused look.
âYou have some, on your cheek.â Pepa gestured to her own cheek.
âAyyy.â Julieta dabbed at her face furiously.
âJulietaâŠâ Pepa reached out, taking her hand between her own. âYou donât have to do everything on your own. Asking for help is allowed, you know.â
Julieta shot her an uncharacteristically scathing glare. âI donât need help. I have everything under control.â
âRightâŠâ Pepa said sarcastically. âThatâs why I found you with your face planted in the bowl. Because youâve so clearly got everything under control.â
Julietaâs lip wobbled. This was so embarrassing. Not only was she letting everyone down, but it was so noticeable Pepa was calling her out on it. Tears stung her eyes, and she swallowed hard to keep them at bay. âItâs my turn to make dinner,â she repeated stubbornly, trying to keep her hands from shaking.
âYes, and you clearly are not feeling up to it,â Pepa explained patiently, as if to a small child.
Great. Now Pepa was being patronizing. Could this get any worse? Julieta gulped, her breathing uneven. âEveryone has been so kind, taking most of the cooking off my plate. I only cook dinner once a week now. Itâs the least I can do.â If she couldnât even do thatâŠwhat was she good for?
âYeah, Julieta, other people are stepping up. You want to know why? Because you are busy taking care of a small child and a baby. They donât have to deal with those responsibilities. Despite that, youâre still keeping up with your gift duty. Somehow youâre still cranking out buñuelos like nobodyâs business.â
Julieta chuckled faintly. âNo one else can do it. I have to keep going with it.â
Pepa cocked her head as if conceding the point. âWell, other people can cook. So let us help you.â
Julieta stared at her. The words werenât really registering. All she could do was latch onto- âYouâre gonna help with cooking?â
Pepa shrugged. âYes? Is that such a crazy idea?â
Julieta tapped her chin thoughtfully. âThe last time I let you cook, you almost set the kitchen on fire trying to boil water.â
âThat wasnât my fault,â Pepa fumed. âThe stupid pot wasnât boiling, and I got mad, and I didnât realize a lightning bolt would zap the fire!â
Seeing Pepa get worked up over the memory was what broke her. To her sleep-deprived brain, it was the funniest thing ever. She broke down into a fit of laughter, struggling for breath, as she laughed so hard, she cried.
âOh sure, laugh at my pain,â Pepa quipped, but there was no edge to her words. Her lips curved into a small smile. âIâll remember that the next time you make a mistake.â
âI donât make mistakes, Pepa.â Julieta tossed her hair behind her shoulders, sending up a plume of flour.
âAh yes, you totally meant to soak your hand in the sauce.â Pepa grinned.
âAy, enough about the stupid sauce!â Julieta flicked her with flour.
Pepa flicked her back. Before the scene could devolve into a flour fight, she placed her hand between them in a truce. âOkay. So what still needs to be done?â
Julieta took stock of the situation. âThe dough and filling are done, so I just need to roll and stuff the empanadas before cooking them.â
âYou mean we,â Pepa corrected. âBecause Iâm helping you, whether you like it or not, so you might as well like it.â
Julieta sighed. âFine. But youâre staying away from the stove. I donât want a repeat of the ligh- the incident,â she amended upon seeing the stormy look in Pepaâs eyes. âHere.â She thrusted a spoon at Pepa. âYou can fill the dough once Iâve shaped it.â
âSo little faith,â Pepa shook her head goodnaturedly, but accepted the proffered spoon.
They began working quietly.
âNot so much, Pepa.â Julieta placed her hand on Pepaâs wrist, stilling her hand with the spoon hovering over the dough circle. âIf you overstuff the empanadas theyâll explode.â
âAnd if you understuff them, youâll get empanada scented bread,â Pepa muttered, but scooped out a bit of filling before crimping the empanada shut. âBetter?â
Julieta nodded her approval. âThatâs one downâŠâ she looked at the almost completely full bowl of filling, âseveral dozen more to go.â
âGood thing you have me to help out, eh, hermana?â Pepa elbowed her gently in the side.
Julieta had to admit she was right.
âI donât know how you thought you could do it alone,â Pepa continued, getting into a rhythm with the empanadas.
âDonât push it.â
Soon, the tray between them grew full. Much faster than if Julieta had been left to do it alone, especially since she was still struggling to stay awake.
As much as she hated to admit it, Pepa was right. Maybe it was okay to ask for help sometimes.

The year is 2034, the ice caps are melting but we finally got Encanto 2â forcibly called Encan2 by Disney. They kicked Jared bush off the project due to creative differences (he didnât do what the Disney overlords asked of him)
Before the film came out Disney tried to purchase the entire country of Colombia. It did not work.
The film takes place five years into the future. Everyone is heterosexual. The plot is a gift swap and the OG songwriters have been replaced with all the song writers for âWish.â Alma dies at the end. Mirabels only character trait is âgirlboss.â Camilo finally gets some attention from the narrative but his only character trait is âI like a girl.â And nothing else happens expect for him liking a girl. Isabela and Dolores have five kids each.
Luisa also dies on screen too because the writers forgot how to write strong female characters so this was the alternative.
At one point Antonio looks into the camera and goes, âerm, heâs right behind me isnât he?â
There is no god. Encanto 3,4,5 and 6 are announced right after.

Man when I tell you- I feel like I got more lore for this silly little au than my canon story-

PB&J triplets
The triplets as teens.
Color design has always been strong in Encanto. Brunoâs design with the green over red pants and tunic hints to how Almaâs influence is deep under the surface, but an archetype of Brunoâs seer identity is on top, not quite fitting. Heâs not quite self actualized.
Julieta while serenely in her own skin by Encanto Movie times, shows here as having vestiges of her mother, perhaps as she takes on the mantle of that generations guide and the most palatable of the triplets.
Pepa though anxious, seems to be the most self-actualized.

Encanto. Luisa and Mirabelle.
The Madrigal family.
Due to the fact that when I was on vacation, my younger cousins watched this cartoon several times a day, I got into it and was inspired by it. And I also fell in love with Luisa and her relationship with Mirabelle (it was just so nice; the eldest is a big, gentle and caring sister and her younger sister, who supported her during a difficult time). Which brings different ideas for this character to my mind. >.< I'll probably make a few more drawings, but I'm not sure that the Incanto theme will be for a long time. :3

Never A Dull Moment - One Shot
[Synopsis: There has never been a dull moment in the Madrigal household and the morning of Dolores' wedding is no exception. With Isa and Dolores driving Mira up the wall, Pepa going out of her mind and Agustin being...well...Agustin, Julieta is slowly giving up hope of getting anything done. She can't find it in her to complain though. After all, it is probably the most fun she has ever had.]
Read on AO3 or under the cut!
âGet that thing away from me! MamĂĄ! MamĂĄ!â
Julieta sighed under her breath and moved away from the counter at the sound of thundering feet and her daughter shouting at the top of her lungs, wiping her hands on her apron and palming a curl from her face seconds before she came racing into la cocina with Isa and Dolores hot on her heels. She had little time to work out what was going on before Mira moved behind her, using her as a human shield, and she laughed when the two elder girls halted in front of her. âAy, I already know Iâll regret this,â She pinched the bridge of her nose before looking back and forth between the girls. âBut whatâs going on?â
âOnly a game, TĂa.â Dolores smiled, smoothing her hands down the front of her dressing gown.
âMamĂĄ, I donât know what that thing is or what it does,â Mirabel waved her hand in the direction of Isa who was holding up her mascara applicator. âBut you can tell them to keep it away from me because I have no interest in finding out.â
âUgh, I am just trying to make you look beautiful!â Isa snapped.
âExcuse me, I am already beautiful!â Mira retorted. âMamĂĄ, tell them I donât need any of that stuff.â
Julieta glanced over her shoulder at her, reaching to stroke her face. âYou are muy hermosa, mi vida.â
âAnd that is why youâre my favourite.â Mira leaned in to peck her cheek.
âButâŠâ
âWha? No, no, no. No buts!â
âBut amor, today is a special occasion,â Julieta pointed out, laughing when her daughter gawped at her before turning back to the elder girls and seeing the smirks on their faces. âI think you should give her a ten-second head start. The poor girl deserves a chance.â
They glanced at each other and shared a knowing look before turning back to Mira.
âDiez, nueve, ochoâŠâ
âOh, you are so not my favourite anymore.â Mirabel grumbled, moving from behind her and fleeing la cocina.
Julieta crossed her arms and chuckled when Isa and Dolores gave up counting and ran after her again, Dolores with one hand on her head to keep the pins in place and Isa clinging to her mascara, and she shook her head when Pepa walked in. âLolita, pleaseâŠâ She watched her reach out to take her daughter by the arm, but it was too late and there was a scowl on her face when she turned to her once her girl was out of sight. âYou did this! You!â
âMe?â She brought a hand to her chest, feigning shock. âI have no idea what gave you that impression, but you are absolutely right.â
âDo you have any idea how long I have been trying to get her to sit still for?â Pepa asked. âYou are not helping, hermana!â
âAy...Casita, help me out here,â She rolled her eyes before the house moved a chair towards them and made Pepa sit down. âPep, calm down. Remember what happened the last time you got worked up on a wedding day? It was not pretty. You gave me the flu!â
Her hermana sighed and raked a hand through her hair. âLo siento. IâŠI want it to be perfect for her.â
Taking a buñuelo from the plate on the counter and sprinkling some powdered sugar onto it, she let Pepa take it from her and watched her take a bite. âIt will be, I promise. I know you want everything to be done as fast as possible, but we have time before she needs to be at the church. Besides, she is the novia which means she has the right to be slightly late. She also has the right to a little fun before the anxiety takes over. Remember us in the hours before Gus and I got married? Chasing Bruno around the sitting room, trying to force him to wear that stupid tie? MamĂĄ was so annoyed, but we had some fun.â
âYou two had fun. I was strangled. You know; still not convinced you werenât trying to get rid of me.â
They looked at each other for a second after Bruno poked his head into the room purely to make that comment, their laughter taking over when he vanished again as Pepa ate the last of her buñuelo before wiping the crumbs from her mouth. âIt has been nice to hear her laughing,â Pepa admitted. âShe does deserve to have some fun, youâre right.â
âDo you think I could get that in writing? You say it so littleâŠâ She teased.
All she earned herself was an eye roll in response as Pepa stood up. âI needed that. Gracias hermana.â
âDe nada,â She shrugged before watching her leave la cocina and turning back to the counter to go on wiping it down, the corner of her mouth twitching into a smirk when a pair of arms snaked around her waist and her husband kissed her on the neck. âI may have to accept the fact that I am never going to get this counter clean again,â She feigned annoyance, leaning back against him. âSo many distractions.â
âI think youâll find you are the distraction here, amor, not me,â He replied, tucking his head gently into her neck and grazing the dip there with his nose the way he knew made her shiver. âI only came in to see if youâd seen my tie, but now I hope we never find it.â
Setting the rag down and turning in his arms, bringing her hands to his chest and taking a moment to admire him in his suit, she smirked as his hands moved to her waist. âAnd why would you hope such a thing on a day like this, Señor?â
âBecauseâŠâ He stepped further into her. âUntil we find it, I canât get dressed and that means I can stay here with you.â
She hummed in response, pretending to think about what he said while her gaze moved back and forth between his and his lips. âI have had better excuses from you in our many years of marriage, but I may be able to accept that one,â She admitted. âJust about.â
âGood. I mean, I would have regardless, but I like knowing you and I are on the same page.â He smiled.
âSo, are you?â
âAm I what?â
âGoing to stop talking at some point and kiss me? Else, this is turning out to be muy anticlimactic.â
Chuckling under his breath, he took a hand from her waist and brought it to the side of her neck under her curtain of hair before using his thumb beneath her chin to tilt her head back. He let his nose graze hers for a second, revelling in the way her eyes fell closed at the contact, and captured her lips with his in a soft kiss. She went up onto her tiptoes as the kiss lingered and he felt her arms circle his neck, her fingers teasing the hairs at the nape as they slowly gave in to one another. It was little wonder neither of them heard their daughter approaching the kitchen until it was too late.
âAy, MamĂĄ!â
Miraâs outcry prompted them to pull apart and turn to look at her, but their initial shock at her finding them like that passed quickly and they struggled to mask their amusement at her standing there with her hands covering her face.
âMira, look at me.â Julieta told her.
âNope.â
âMiraâŠâ
âHow could you let them do this to me?â Mirabel dropped her hands to reveal herself completely done up, mascara on her lashes and her lips a subtle shade of red. Her cheeks had even been patted with a little rouge by one of the girls. âI stopped running because they stopped counting, but then they both jumped on me. I think Isabela stabbed me in the eye with that stick thing and now I canât see out of it.â
AgustĂn chuckled. âMiraboo, you couldnât see much before. I donât think you can blame Isa entirely.â
âPa, I need you on my side.â She whined before he walked over and put an arm around her shoulders.
âLo siento, but you really do look beautiful, mi vida.â Julieta shook her head, her hands on her hips.
She pouted. âI do not. I look like Isa threw up on me and yes, it feels as gross as it sounds.â
âOkay, okay, okay,â Julieta made her way over and cupped her face in her hands. âIf I help you sort this, will you forgive me?â
âPotentially,â She hummed. âI might forgive you a little faster if you give me a buñuelo after.â
Julieta nodded before taking her by the hand and walking her towards the exit of the kitchen, she and her husband sharing a smile when she stopped for a second to look over her shoulder at him. âBack in un momenta. Do not eat all those buñuelos, I beg you.â
âPromise. Uh, I really do need to know where my tie is though.â
âBread bin.â
âWhaâŠâ
âAmor, your guess is as good as mine.â
Standing there thoroughly confused, he watched his wife and daughter leave the kitchen together and frowned with a shake of his head. He had no idea what had gone on â it had been an insane morning already â but he was sure of one thing.
There really was never a dull moment in this house.

thinking abt how Pepa mustâve been longing to be connected with people but couldnât. like she wanted to comfort her siblings and her childhood friends when they were sad, but she gets sad too and she often gets them annoyed or sick with her rain. the only people who understood and was fond of her rains were Bruno and Felix.
she wants to help others emotionally, but people mistake her empathy as needing help so they end up comforting her instead (the opposite of what she wanted to do)
and it extended to her motherhood. sometimes she envied how Julietaâs kids were not hesitant to come to her when they get hurt, how much more normal Julieta is as a mother. she gets sad about the fact that her kids were more drawn to Felix than her when theyâre upset.
she loves that Camilo learned to be so patient and understanding to her, but she also wished he didnât only come to her to take care of her, but rather ask to be taken care of. Thatâs why their toddler years were the best (despite the most stressful) for Pepa, because they only saw her as a mother they didnât hesitate to come to, not yet understanding the inconveniences of her gift and why they should walk eggshells around her.
everyone was afraid of triggering her storms, so they kept a considerable distance emotionally. it didnât help Pepaâs case because she has a big heart but no one willing to share it with

I know this movie is recent-ish, but the lack of an Encanto series is still crazy to me.
Like, it doesn't even need crazy magical lore, it can be episodic, it's so simple:
Family dynamics not seen in the movie
Why doesn't Mirabel have a gift (theory of her being the next matriarch being the most obvious one)
Seeing the other rooms
Bruno's new interactions with the townspeople and the family
FERAL ISABELA!!!
Dolores and Mariano
Unexplored trauma with Dolores and Camilo, GET THEM THEIR SOLO SONGS!!!!
The dads' sides of the family
Abuela Alma trying to do better
Childhoods of the triplets
On that same note, how the couples met each other.
More on Alma and Pedro. Etc
And if you wanted new stuff, HAVE THEM OPEN THE ENCANTO TO LET MORE PEOPLE IN, new technology that Encanto doesn't have access to, new ideas and cultures - it can even bring drama if the new people try to do bad things and the family goes all x-men on them.
It's so many possibilities that if they never do it it's a damn shame.
